Looking
for Expert Advice for their May 15th issue, The Charlotte Business
Journal recently asked Stephanie: "In light of the
recession, how can I save money when planning a summer outing or
employee picnic for my company?"
Stephanie's
suggestions: Having an event at your office may actually
end up costing you more than if you use an off-site venue. At
a venue, they have everything, so you don't have to rent linen,
chairs, etc.
Next,
find a venue that lets you bring in your own caterer - that way you
can scale the event to the level you can afford.
To
save money on decorations, have everyone dress in a theme - say in
1960s style or in the same color. The attendees become walking
decor and make the room come to life.
